Q. Patty, congratulations. Fabulous opening round out there. 7-under par. Beautiful conditions this morning. Ten fairways, 16 greens, 26 putts. Everything clicked?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I feel like the two birdies was just kind of a gimme because I hit it like really close.

So I would say like not 26 putts, 26 putts, but, yeah, I struck the ball really, really well today.

Q. Fourth time playing here. 48th position being your best finish. Have you taken a different approach to Evian this year?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Just keeping it light. I feel like I always like coming back here. It's always nice. The weather is always really good here. Tends to get warm, but if anything, I feel like I'm more comfortable with my game compared to last year.

So still had a lot of good memories from last year. Feel like I played decent not feeling comfortable, so this year it's almost like a freed up feeling.

Q. Well, you've enjoyed a very good 2024. Since winning in February you've only been outside the top 25 on two occasions. How would you say you're a better player now than the major winner back in 2021?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Just a little older and wiser and understand life and ups and downs a little bit better. I feel like that takes time to grow and learn.

But if anything, I feel like I could still work on playing fearlessly and freely like I was when I was 21. Yeah, or 20.

So just always working on being athletic and just seeing and reacting, just shooting hoops out there, so...
