Quick Quotes
Q. Safely through to the match play stages of the championship. You must be pleased with that?
MAX KENNEDY: Yeah, very happy. Got the job done today. It wasn't easy at times. The Glashedy played very difficult but was able to get it done.
Q. Can you talk to us about the round, what stood out as highlights?
MAX KENNEDY: Yeah, so I was kind of -- I had a very solid start through six holes. I was 1-under, which is pretty good through that start because it's difficult. And then made a couple bogeys around the turn. Made three bogeys in four holes, and was able to birdie 11 and 12 which are tough holes.
So that was probably the highlight, 11 and 12, birdieing those two and steadying the ship there was nice.
Q. They are tough holes as you say. Talk to us on 12 tee-to-green what you did there.
MAX KENNEDY: Well, 11 is the first one I birdied. I hit driver, 7-wood and then held like a 20-footer.
On 12, it's a tough hole. Hit driver, 7-iron and made like a 15-footer.
Q. Fair to say the putting was good?
MAX KENNEDY: Yeah, the putter behaved itself today. I was putting well.
Q. Switch of mentality now heading into the match play. Is that the format of the game that you like?
MAX KENNEDY: Yeah, I kind of tried to do the exact same thing. I don't try to be aggressive or defensive. I just try and play my own game and usually that I cans care of itself.
Q. Being in Ireland, does that put pressure on or is it more of a motivator?
MAX KENNEDY: Motivates me a hundred percent. I love it. I love playing in my home country, and I never get the chance to do so. I'm very happy.
Q. Do you hope to see big crowds the next few days?
MAX KENNEDY: Yeah, as I start the matches, there will be a lot of people coming out, that's right.
