Quick Quotes
Q. As you said, it's all about getting through, so that's the first job done.
DOMINIC CLEMONS: I was trying to finish as good as I could. It's not easy playing to make the cut but that's essentially what it is. You want to still be aggressive and make birdies.
Q. Easy to become too defensive and think of what's going on behind?
DOMINIC CLEMONS: And all of the sudden, you're going downhill.
Q. That's the tougher side, the tougher test of the day, that course?
DOMINIC CLEMONS: It was tough but you know, if you kept it in the fairway, hit greens -- couldn't buy a par. It's like a tournament inside a tournament. Start fresh tomorrow and give it a good run.
Q. You've played in the Amateur before, you've got through before?
DOMINIC CLEMONS: In the Boys I have.
Q. Your Muirfield triumph is still fresh in the memory, are you still riding that wave in some ways?
DOMINIC CLEMONS: No, I forgot about it. Start fresh next week. It's in the back of my head but I'm not thinking about it. It would be nice to get another.
Q. In terms of achievements, Muirfield, 17-shot win, was it? A remarkable effort.
DOMINIC CLEMONS: It was good fun. A good day, 36 holes. Made lots of birdies. Wish it was always like that. Hopefully make a few more tomorrow.
Q. Golf is a fickle game. Brings you back down, doesn't it?
DOMINIC CLEMONS: It's a stupid game, yeah. It's a stupid game. That's why we play it.
Q. Russell Claydon, a stalwart at Gog Magog
DOMINIC CLEMONS: I've never actually never met him before but a lot of guys at the club have stories and little tips, stuff like that. Good to hear. He was a top amateur.
Q. You'll be in the Hall of Fame with him.
DOMINIC CLEMONS: A few more good rounds.
