Quick Quotes
Q. Michael, well played today. That was a tough challenge out there, wasn't it?
MICHAEL ALEXANDER MJAASETH: Especially on the back nine. Bogeys started coming but I fought through it. I'm happy with the round.
Q. Let's focus on highlights, not the lowlights. You had quite a few nice birdies on the front nine. What was the highlight?
MICHAEL ALEXANDER MJAASETH: Highlight, made a really nice birdie on 9. Hit a good drive down there and just a solid 9-iron to 15 feet. Nice to make the turn in good spirits.
I missed a couple shots to the right, and it's so hard to judge from the rough how far the ball is going to go. So I thought I hit a good shot on 12 and just airmailed the green into the thick stuff. So that was a little unfortunate. It was just tough to judge how far the ball was going to go with the wind blowing. You don't know if it's into or slightly helping. It's just hard to judge. It's tough out there.
Links golf, you're just trying to survive and keep the ball on the ground as much as possible.
Q. Birdie on 17, that must have made things a little bit nice to finish.
MICHAEL ALEXANDER MJAASETH: That was a really nice birdie. Made a good up-and-down.
Q. From tee-to-green, what clubs did you use?
MICHAEL ALEXANDER MJAASETH: I hit my drive into the right rough. I thought it might be good, the driver, but it didn't quite cover the rough. Then I had a bad lie in the rough and I tried to chip it out and hit it in that bunker 60 yards short of the green. Tried to hit a 6-iron but hit a bad one. Just rolled it up to the green, made the 10-footer for birdie. That was nice.
Q. This championship is all about making the match play. You're safely through. Can you switch the mentality for the next few days?
MICHAEL ALEXANDER MJAASETH: Match play, it's a different mentality. I still try to do the same thing. I just work on my routine and process and just keep going. In the end, it's just golf. Yeah, I'm looking forward to match play. It's fun.
