Q. Lexi, pleasure following you again. I can't help but see the amount of fans and gallery that's following you around. What does it mean to you to know that you are so well supported here in Grand Rapids?
LEXI THOMPSON: It means so much to me. I always say the fans are probably the best here at the Meijer. It's unbelievable how the community really gets behind this event and how the event gives back to the community as well.
It's great to see all these people out here supporting women's golf.
Q. Seems like you found something in your round that followed through to today with that tremendous front nine. Can you share what you think you found out there?
LEXI THOMPSON: No, thank you. No, just kidding. It's just a matter of being comfortable out there. I love this golf course. It's in great shape for us and we've had perfect weather, so just a matter of being comfortable and getting those putts to drop and just firing at the pins.
Because you know you have to make birdies and play aggressive, so I kind of did that on the front nine.
Q. You certainly did. Now you've had time to reflect on the U.S. Open and what you spoke about there at the press conference. Is it with a huge relief you feel like a weight lifted off your shoulders playing golf?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, definitely a weight lifted off because it's something that's been on my mind for a bit. There is a lot of golf to be played and the rest of the year and I'm really looking forward to every time I tee it up, especially if we get crowds like this every week.
There is nothing like it. The fans make the game. That's why I've loved every bit of being out here every single year. So it's a bit of a relief, but I want to finish this year strong.
Q. Do rounds like this make you change your mind?
LEXI THOMPSON: (Laughing.) Rounds like this make it harder, that's for sure. But I mean, I love the game. It's just an up and down sport as everybody knows.
