THE MODERATOR: Matteo, that was a tough battle, but overall are you happy about your level for the tournament?

MATTEO ARNALDI: Yeah, for sure. Was a good match. I mean, it's tough. It's tough to digest, because I was very close to go two sets to love up, and it's completely different match after that.

Like you said, I played a good tournament. I'm happy for that. My level is increasing. That's the most important thing.

I got to play against two top-10s in a Grand Slam, and after New York I did the fourth round again, so there are a lot of positive things that I can bring home, for sure, and to work on it. Also some other things that I will have to work and try to improve.

THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. Stefanos was really impressive with his forehand today. Can you talk a little bit about the challenge it is to play against him on that part?

MATTEO ARNALDI: I mean, I think he was impressive from the third set and the fourth, because I changed a bit. I wasn't playing for sure like I was playing in the first two sets. He was able to play a bit better. He was able to push a bit more, a bit more energy on court for him. So for sure he played better in the third and fourth, I think.

At the start I was doing the right things. I mean, difference with the match of Rublev was that I had that I could play for three sets like I wanted. Here I played one, two, let's say two, even if I lost.

Then he's, I don't know, No. 8, 9, so that's why he found a way to fight and to get into the match (smiling). So for sure in that point, I have to say congrats to him. Yeah, like, he was able to find a way, so that's it.
