Quick Quotes
Q. So you started out a little slow but played pretty strong the last 15 holes. Walk us through your round.
HINAKO SHIBUNO: So, yes, I made two bogeys and that was that time because my putting was not that great. The shots themselves are pretty good, so I just change my mind and I was able to continue to have a very good hit.
I was able to make three birdies.
Q. So just found something there and you kind of just stick to it?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: So not really, but I keep my emotion kind of flat.
Q. You've been in these pressure situations before. Do you enjoy being in the hunt in the major championships?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: No, I'm not having pressure at all.
Q. Doesn't seem to affect you when you play your game though, correct?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: I just cover by smiling.
Q. What was your expectations coming in here to Lancaster this week?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: So actually my golfing expectation was zero. I didn't have any expectation. What happened is that 2019 I won the British Open title, and then I was able to get the right to attend the majors for the next five years.
So when I came here I just wanted to enjoy this opportunity.
Q. Could you talk a little bit about the crowds and the crowd support here at Lancaster this week?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: So I was surprised, even from Thursday I have seen many fans on gallery and I realize that, oh, this is a U.S. Open.
And I also saw the many fans from Japan, and they're support really gave me support.
