THE MODERATOR: Braden Shattuck is with us at the 106th PGA Championship. First of all, how has this week been and what does it mean to be the low PGA of America golf professional this week?
BRADEN SHATTUCK: Yeah, this week has been obviously awesome. This is the first cut I've made on the PGA Tour and I just happened to do it in a major. I couldn't do it in the opposite field events, but I did it this week.
So it was an amazing week to see what the weekend was like. Shot a good round yesterday, didn't quite finish it up today, but it was awesome, learned a lot, had a lot of fun.
Q. You did finish up with some closing pars to get to the house under par for the week. How important was that?
BRADEN SHATTUCK: Yeah, it was important. I had a tough stretch there early on the back nine where I hit some really poor long irons that got me in trouble. But hung on, hit some good, much better tee shots and iron shots coming in and made some pars to keep it under par.
Q. You were hoping the weekend, making the cut, being able to play on the weekend, be a little less pressure. What did it feel like? Did it feel like a little less and you could free-wheel it?
BRADEN SHATTUCK: It felt like less pressure than the first two days. It felt fairly relaxed, especially today. There were no nerves whatsoever. So it was fun, and the pace of play was great within twosomes. It was amazing. I think we played in like four hours and 10 minutes. It was great.
Q. You're heading to Bellwood Country Club tomorrow for a Philly section event. What's the game plan? You've got a tough night ahead and then playing first thing tomorrow morning, what do you got going for you?
BRADEN SHATTUCK: Yeah I'm going to be hanging around for awhile for the ceremony at the end and then once all that's over with I'll be driving back with my friends. I think it's about a 10-hour drive back, and try and make my tee time for tomorrow at Bellwood for the section event. It's one of the Silver Crest Cup qualifiers, so I need to show up and play so that I can get points to qualify.
Q. Are you doing U.S. Open qualifying as well?
BRADEN SHATTUCK: No, I couldn't make any of the dates work because I'm getting married that week, so more important things.
Q. You wore a ribbon this week honoring your friend from the section. Do you feel you honored him nicely?
BRADEN SHATTUCK: I think so. I think so. Hopefully he's proud.
Q. When you look at the week as a whole, what stands out as some highlights, even before the actual official tee shot, and what will you carry back to your membership as far as what you accomplished this week?
BRADEN SHATTUCK: That's a good question. I think I'll probably get a lot of questions about what was it like to play in a major and what were the nerves like and what was it like to play the weekend; were you nervous; what did you do to kind of keep yourself calm. I get a lot of those kind of questions, especially from students and members, so I'll be able to have all the answers for them.
