PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

May 18, 2024

Dean Burmester

Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Valhalla Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Tell me about today.

DEAN BURMESTER: Yeah, yesterday I actually played really well. Missed quite a few putts early but hung in there. And then, yeah, obviously got it going around the turn. Birdie on 8 kind of got my round going and then birdied 10, birdied 12 and then it started to kind of get dark everything and. Very happy with that and then this morning was on and off, on and off.

We were on the tee and the mist rolled in again so we were off again for another couple hours. Yeah, to only have two holes left, it's a little frustrating at times but I'm just glad that we got those two holes done and we can get round three in.

Q. Is this one of the best positions you've had in a major?

DEAN BURMESTER: I think so. I thin issued 11th at the 150th Open at St Andrews. I played pretty nicely there. Yeah, this is probably the best position I've been in going into the week for sure. So it's nice to have a chance.

Q. Four days in difficult conditions, physically draining in a way, too. So the next two days --

DEAN BURMESTER: Yeah, I think recovery is probably tee. The cold plunging, physiotherapy, that kind of stuff is going to be key. I think everyone will be doing that. Under foot it's really soft, so it makes it a longer walk, and it's a long walk already.

Yeah, those things are going to be key and conserving your energy for sure.
