THE G4D OPEN

May 16, 2024

Chris Willis

Woburn, England, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. Chris, good scoring. How did you play today?

CHRIS WILLIS: I played well today. I putted quite well which saved me a few spots and I hit some really good short game shots which gave me a couple birdie looks on par 5s, and I rolled in a couple other birdie putts and some par-saving putts, so it was a putting day today.

Q. And how is your overall game then going into tomorrow? How do you feel, do you think you're doing well on all fronts?

CHRIS WILLIS: Yeah, I think I need to keep the ball in play a little bit better and make a few better choices off the tee for positioning. But I like the way my irons are going. I like my wedges, I like my putter. Everything feels very good. I hope I can put a special number up there tomorrow and put some pressure on the big boys.

Q. 73 today in challenging weather conditions, you must be quite proud of that.

CHRIS WILLIS: Yeah, it was really good. I did not adapt well to start. I had a double-bogey on 77 yards and then I took a bogey on a par 5, both because I misjudged the conditions and after that, I adjusted quite well and made sure I kept track of the wind and accounted for the softer conditions today.

Q. Because you're currently in third place, do you think you can be flying the flag for Canada tomorrow?

CHRIS WILLIS: I hope so. I think I've got a special round in me tomorrow.
