THE MODERATOR: All right, here with Allisen Corpuz at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro. You are one of the big local players here of the event this week. Tell us how familiar you were with Wilshire Country Club and how often you might play here at the course.

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, so I've been coming out here since my freshman year in college. This was one of the courses in our rotation, and now I'm really grateful to be on the other side, be a pro. They've extended me an honorary membership, so I'm an honorary member out here as well.

The club has been great to me. I mean, I'm out here practicing pretty much every day on off weeks, and try to play with the members. Probably get on the course like once a week.

Q. The GM just came by and spoke to you. Seems you know him pretty well. They were all very excited after your U.S. Open win. What has the reception from members been here like for you even before your win but especially after your win at the U.S. Open?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I think Wilshire Country Club is such a special place. All the members here are great. Like they're out here for a reason. It really is like a community of a country club.

It was actually perfect timing. I put the Wilshire logo onto my bag like two days before I left for the U.S. Open, and then I think they had a watch party that Sunday when I won in the clubhouse.

No, it's been awesome just to come out and practice and kind of see people of all ages, juniors, older folks out here getting out and playing 18. Everyone has been just really awesome.

Q. What does it mean to have sort of an LPGA event at a course that you're familiar with in an area that you've spent a lot of the time? What does that mean for you personally?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I love coming back to a familiar stomping grounds. It really does just feel like home. Like I've probably played over 100 rounds out here at this point.

Just to see how the course just plays a little differently each time you come out. Obviously it's the same course, but it's just fun to really get to know it, and, yeah, come out and see it in a tournament week and just watch it shine and have the attention that it deserves.

Q. Is it fun to sort of the share familiar places with your fellow LPGA Tour members? I know you're close friends with several of them.

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I love just giving restaurant recommendations in the area. Los Angeles in general is so special. You really can find I think whatever food you want to find and just culturally it's such a diverse place. I love being here and having gone to college here. I love being in the heart of LA.

Q. Allisen, this whole Nelly thing has happened. What's it been like to watch her win five in a row and see her talent at the moment?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, it is incredible. I mean, Nelly is obviously like generational talent. Everyone knew she was good and it's just been awesome to watch her back it up and do five in a row.

I mean, that's almost unheard of, right? Just to see how good she is week in and week out and to know how good the other girls out here are as well, it's really impressive to watch. Yeah, it's been awesome.

Q. Have you played alongside her at any point in this run? And if so, what shot stands out?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I haven't. I mean, we were teammates at Solheim last year and I believe that's the last time we were paired together. She hits the ball so far. We played alternate shot and I was joking to my caddie, Jay, like wow, I've never even seen this part of the golf course before. She's 30 yards past me, right?

I watched her make a lot of really good putts last week at Chevron on TV. Watched her chip-in I believe final round. She's just been playing really, really solid. Like all parts of her game has been firing.

Q. Allisen, wondering if your routine changes this week playing in Los Angeles compared to other weeks? If so, how?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Honestly not really. I played 18 this morning. I just feel like -- I mean, I know the course, but at the same time, it just plays so different when the LPGA comes in. Like they firm up the greens, firm up the fairways, playing it a little longer.

I mean, nothing really changes. Still another work week. Just trying to keep everything the same and feel comfortable out there.

Q. I'll wrap up with the last two here. Coming off The Chevron Championship last week, first major of the year, now in the major swing and you're a defending major champion this year. How does your game feel overall, and are you ready for the major season?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, hasn't been quite the start to the year that I maybe would've wanted, but definitely feels like it's moving in the right direction. Really, really excited for this week just to be on a familiar course, and like you said four more majors incoming, so definitely feel like I'm working on right things, and, yeah, looking forward to it.

Q. Do you mind if I ask what you're working on right now?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, just made a few equipment changes and just a few swing changes. Just really small things. For me, I think like my misses generally tend to be a bit bigger, even though it's like a small change. Just really watching setup and few key things, like old habits making in sometimes.

Q. Just wondering what equipment you changed in your bag?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, put in a new driver. Tried to get a little bit of distance and it just wasn't quite fit the right way.

Put in a new putter as well at the beginning of the season. Just been working with it. It's not the putter, it's me, but I'm getting used to it and definitely feeling a lot more comfortable with it as the season goes on.

Q. What model of putter and driver do you have in the bag right now?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: It's the 430, the 10k Max for the driver, and the putter is a PLD. Very similar to the putter that I was using last season.

It's just a little bit heavier.
