Quick Quotes
THE MODERATOR: Here with Maja Stark after her third round Of the Chevron Championship this Sunday morning. You went out there, you just said, with a putt for birdie on 13. What was your mentality starting the day knowing you have to complete a round and then play another?
MAJA STARK: I love golf, so it's just fun to play more. It was kind of boring yesterday when we just had to sit and wait for hours and hours. I was just excited to get back, and then didn't want to get ahead of myself. I knew it was going to be a little bit harder today, colder, windier. It was just some patience and just knowing that it was going to be tougher than yesterday.
Q. Can you describe that putt you had for birdie? How long was it?
MAJA STARK: It was about eight feet breaking kind of a lot left to right. But yeah, I feel like I've been better about the short putts this week, just trusting the lines.
Q. You now have another round to play, and looks like you're near the top of the leaderboard for now. What's it going to take to go out there today and potentially win? What kind of score or day do you have to have out there?
MAJA STARK: I have no idea about scores. I'm trying to not think about it. That's usually my downfall, that I think about what I need to shoot.
I think everyone needs to be patient. We've had pretty easy conditions, I feel, the first few days, so now it's going to be a little bit tougher, I guess.
We'll see what the pins are like. The pins were way easier today than they've been the previous rounds. I don't know what they have in store for us really, but we'll see.
Q. Seeing Brooke Henderson, I know you haven't been looking at the scores, but Brooke Henderson shot an 8-under yesterday and this morning. Do you see that kind of score out there? Were you surprised by that score?
MAJA STARK: No, I definitely saw it. Moving day, they put so many pins more gettable than the first few days. I definitely saw it, and then I just didn't do it.
Q. What are the sort of shots that you need out there today with the cold, the wind and a challenging final round?
MAJA STARK: I think you just have to really trust what you're doing. It's a little bit hard now with all the slopes on the greens, but I feel like I was doing a good job of that. Just if I need to take a 20-meter putt, then I'll do it, because otherwise it's easier to save a par from there than risk going into the water or whatever. I think it's more mentally just preparing yourself to have some tough up-and-downs and stuff.
There's no other real option out here.
