Quick Quotes
Q. Stephan, 4-under, solid back nine. How would you characterize the day today?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, honestly, they're pretty similar nines. I just couldn't get any putts to fall on the front nine. Made some nice ones on the back. Short one on 10, a little longer one on 11. Kind of got the back nine kick-started. Got a couple nice up-and-downs. Chipped in on 16, always helps. Yeah, super happy with my round.
Q. Third time making a start in this event. What are your thoughts on Harbour Town and looking forward to most this week?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, I think it's taken me a little bit to figure out how to play this golf course. I like to normally tee it up and just send it on every hole, and this golf course you can't do that. You've got to kind of play your angles a little bit, and if it means 20 yards longer into the hole, sometimes that's the play.
Having a guy like HD on the bag kind of reeled me back in sometimes, like hey, I think this is 3-wood here. Obviously it was a huge help.
Q. What's some of the advice that he gives you out there that you lean on him for?
STEPHAN JAEGER: He knows my game now pretty well. We've obviously worked all season and communicate very well. He knows I like to hit driver a lot. He'll let me hit it every once in a while -- we hit driver on 12 today, which can be a 3-wood.
It's just sometimes I tell him how I feel, and if it's an absolute no-no he'll tell me, and if he doesn't mind it, we'll go with that. I'm trying to stay with a little more intuition on what I feel on the golf course. It obviously worked well today.
Q. First appearance last week at the Masters. What was that for you from start to finish, that full week?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, I mean, I wish it wasn't blowing 40 miles an hour. It was obviously great. Getting there is kind of the goal, right; you win a golf tournament and you're getting there.
For me, we were really a family, and I enjoyed Wednesday. It was awesome. We have a one-and-a-half year old. He was wore out after nine holes. He was walking all over the place, and he had a good time.
I'd like to have another crack at the golf course. Kind of left a little sour taste in my mouth. That work continues to be able to go back there next year and compete a little bit better than I did this year.
