Quick Quotes
Q. How would you sum up the week?
COREY CONNERS: Obviously the result on the rebound is disappointing, not what I had in mind. It was a fun week. It was a grind. Certainly a good test out here.
But yeah, just felt like there was lots of positives and things that I liked, just the mistakes were costly. I wasn't able to score the best.
Q. The golf course today as compared to maybe the last couple days, was it primed for scoring today?
COREY CONNERS: It's playing great today. To be honest, when teeing off earlier, it had a little bit of receptiveness and was definitely gettable for some birdies. It's starting to firm up a little bit, but it's playing wonderfully and exactly how you want it. The good shots are rewarded and mistakes are penalized. It's playing fair. Certainly someone can get it going. But it is challenging.
Q. How do you feel about where your game is at right now?
COREY CONNERS: I like a lot of the things that I've been doing. The good shots are really good. Just had some errors that were costly and I think need to tighten up the misses, just to gain a little bit of consistency to be where I want.
It felt like I putted well. Didn't make many putts the last couple days. Speed was just a touch off. But felt like I was rolling it well. Hit a lot of great tee balls, but some of the misses were costly.
When I was in position, hit great iron shots and gave myself good looks. I take some of those positives definitely.
Q. Conditions were so tough the first three days; how easy is it to disregard the result even though you're at a major championship and trying to focus on how --
COREY CONNERS: I mean, it's tough. Obviously you see the leaderboard, and I'm near the bottom. It's not where I want to be. So that's certainly frustrating. I think when I digest the week, I'll be able to pick out some decent positives that I can use going forward.
Q. Earlier in the week Brooks said that almost nobody asked him how he prepares for majors, despite the fact that he's won five of them. What could you take away from how he plays in major championships?
COREY CONNERS: I feel like he's got a fearless attitude out there. He's not afraid of making mistakes. He knows he's going to hit good shots when he needs to. He's a great competitor.
