Quick Quotes
Q. I assume you knew where you stood in relation to the cut coming down the stretch?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, obviously I was checking, but I almost felt like I wanted to miss it the way I was playing.
But yeah, it is what it is. I feel like I was trying to get myself up in the last couple holes knowing that, you never know, I could have the best two rounds of my life and have a chance. But I think that's the way I want to think. I knew I could still make birdies on the last couple holes, and I hit good shots, so yeah.
Q. So you were really grinding on 18 to get that birdie?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, I wanted to make that birdie, of course. Obviously you don't want to miss the cut. But the way I was playing, I was a little pissed, and I was almost trying to miss it.
Q. How would you sum up these two days? Is a lot of it just because of the wind?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, I feel like the wind kind of played me a little bit today. I didn't feel like I was hitting the ball my best, but I was hitting it pretty good, and I felt like whenever the wind gets up, those little gusts gets a little bigger, and I feel like if you are -- if you know exactly what the ball is doing with this type of wind, you have a big difference between the field, and I feel like I was a little bit off on that, and yeah, it cost me a little bit having the commitment to trust the wind and knowing what it was going to do.
Q. Has it been a learning experience for you this week?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, I think every week is a learning experience the way I'm trying to take it. Obviously there is a lot I've got to learn from today. Right now it's hard for me to think about it, but I'm definitely going to go back and try to feel what I could have done better and what not.
Q. Just your mindset going into the weekend?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: I have nothing to lose, so why not go right at the pins.
