Q. How far did you have to cut that ball?

TAYLOR MOORE: I had to cut it probably 15 to 18 yards. Started just left of that greenside bunker.

Q. About a 7 or 8-foot putt?

TAYLOR MOORE: Yeah, 8-footer, I would say.

Q. Tell me about the shot on 2 for eagle.

TAYLOR MOORE: That was pretty cool. We hit it -- we decided to go long right of it. We thought that was the best angle to give us the most space, and the chip was back into the wind a little bit. Yeah, had a pretty big swing right-to-left and just got it right with the amount of break.

Q. My son called it 120 feet. Does that sound right?

TAYLOR MOORE: Yeah, I think so. I don't really know. I just kind of felt that one out.

Q. How'd you birdie No. 1?

TAYLOR MOORE: Made about a 30-footer, hit driver, 7-iron. It was a tough starting hole today. Pretty big wind in off our left. Hit 7-iron from about 30 feet and made it.

Q. You were tied for 5th after two holes. Had to be pretty exciting stuff?

TAYLOR MOORE: Yeah, I didn't even know where I was at. I was just getting into the flow of the round. Obviously I started pretty good and then struggled a little bit in the middle of the round.

Today was tough. Everybody saw it. The ball was going everywhere. So it was pretty challenging.

Q. Have you ever taken 5 hours and 45 minutes to play a PGA event?

TAYLOR MOORE: Is that what it took? That sounds about right. I felt like I was out there for a day. It was brutal.

Q. If you could describe the intensity of the wind, how does it rate?

TAYLOR MOORE: (Wind gust) As you can tell right here.

Growing up in Oklahoma, I've played in windy conditions before. I would say this is slightly more challenging given the amount of slope out here. Then the gusts. It would blow 10 or 15 miles an hour, and you could hit a golf shot, then it would gust close to 40, it felt like. Yeah, it's challenging.

Q. Were you talking to the official on 18 about slow play, or what was that?

TAYLOR MOORE: We were just asking about the sand on the green because the bunker faces were blowing. It looked like -- we weren't sure if they were blowing sand off the greens before guys were putting or not because there was a lot of sand around the hole. So we were just asking.

Q. Feel good about the weekend?

TAYLOR MOORE: Yeah, for sure. I might be a little bit far back, but anything can happen out here. I feel like put a couple good rounds together, it will still be a great week. Definitely looking forward to it.
