Quick Quotes
Q. Tough day, but just give us a little summary of how it went.
CHRISTO LAMPRECHT: Yeah, it was probably the toughest back nine of my life, honestly. I think it's just so hard to putt out there. The greens are really firm and fast and glassy, and with this wind, it's so hard to judge it.
I think I played okay today. I just think my irons weren't good enough. In this wind you've got to hit some really good iron shots. Then obviously one or two errant tee shots caused me to chip out.
I'm not displeased, but I think I left some shots out there today, easy shots. I think that's what differs right now from where I want to be to where I am, and I think if I just clean that up over the next couple months, when I turn pro I think I'll be ready.
Q. It's your first time here; how much have you learned on the course, off the course, getting ready for potentially next year?
CHRISTO LAMPRECHT: Yeah, I think I learned a lot. This golf course is really hard when it's windy, and I think where you leave it then is so much more emphasized. If there's no wind blowing out here, you can short-side yourself and get away with it one or two times maybe, but when it's blowing like this, there's no way you can get away with it, and I did that a couple times today. Paid the price.
Q. There's a 39-year South African streak of a player making the cut in the Masters. Can you tell us how proud you are to be a South African at the Masters with such a rich history here and what it meant to play under your nation?
CHRISTO LAMPRECHT: Yeah, I think obviously representing my country in any form or fashion is an achievement in my view. It's awesome being one of the three guys playing this year. I played with Charl obviously today, as well. It really is a privilege to represent my country in any form and fashion.
Obviously, yeah, I'm really happy for Erik. He played some really good golf. It's hard out there, so really kudos to him.
Q. Do you think you can be the next generational South African golfer and lead the way? I know a lot of patrons are excited to see you play. Do you reckon you can lead the way for South Africa in the next generation?
CHRISTO LAMPRECHT: Yeah, I can only take care of what I can take care of, I guess. How people view me is a whole different perspective. Obviously that's my goal is to be one of the best South African players in the next couple years and be one of the best in the world hopefully soon.
