Quick Quotes
Q. Talk about the rain we were get this morning. For all intents and purposes, give me an idea going of your preparation.
LUKE LIST: Yeah, couple hour delay. Golf course is perfect. Greens were a touch slower just with that.
But they're still Augusta National greens and got to be in the right spots. Couldn't have got off to a worse start really over the front nine and really had to hang on from there.
So I was happy the way I kind of hung in there. But the golf course, obviously Bryson is 7-under. That's good on a no-wind day.
I thought it was pretty tricky getting the wind right. It was swirling all over on the back nine, but obviously he's handling it well.
Q. (Regarding back nine.)
LUKE LIST: Well, your eyes and then what you're feeling and seeing kind of mess with you. So for instance, 12 was into the wind on 11 and you're standing on the tee and the pin is going down and pin on 11 is going down and you're feeling wind in your face.
It's just a sensory overload. You have to kind of just commit to a shot and try to make the best swing, which isn't always easiest when you're seeing and feeling different things.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
LUKE LIST: Yeah, I mean, obviously didn't look great on paper, but this golf course should play tough the rest of the afternoon. If I can go out and get after it tomorrow and make some birdies and hopefully give myself the chance on the weekend, I would be happy.
Q. With the delay this morning, you think going out early...
LUKE LIST: I don't know. It was kind of blowing all day. Maybe. Looks like the scores are pretty good from the first couple groups, and then from Bryson. Yeah, maybe it will be an advantage.
Hard to say with those guys that will finish their first round tomorrow morning.
Q. Got a chance to catch up your family. Got a chance to talk to them. They're so proud of you. What is it like having their support out here?
LUKE LIST: Yeah, it's awesome. Like any tournament having your family, but this week is special just being from Augusta now and calling this home and my community and having all my friends and family. It's really special.
Q. All your friends and family talked about what a hard worker you are and how hard you have worked to do here. How good does it feel to be back here?
LUKE LIST: Yeah.
Q. Just achieving that much.
LUKE LIST: Yeah, it was a little bit of a shock to the system to get off to that bad of a start. I feel like my game was kind going the right direction. Don't have any good results in the last few weeks.
Yeah, like I couldn't have prepared better, so that was a little frustrating.
I was happy to get even par on the back side and hopefully get a chance to play on the weekend.
Q. Your family said when you're not golfing you're a great dad, great son-in-law, a great friend. What are some of those non-golf moments that mean the most to you?
LUKE LIST: Yeah, I mean, like I got to spend a lot of time with my kids on the par-3 yesterday which was really cool. And then we got to spend some time Sunday, Monday with the kids taking pictures. I think my daughter a starting to understand a little bit more what I do. It's sinking in a little bit. So they've sacrificed a lot for me to do what I do and I'm lucky to have their support.
