Q. Congratulations on a well-fought match today. Made it to the semifinals. Talk about going up against Angel Yin, a Solheim Cup teammate.
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, she's so good at match play, so I knew that I had to really dig deep today to get the W.
But happy with how I played today, and it's nice to finish on a birdie, too.
Q. What goes through your mind when you're up in the match, looks like you should win it, but still have to close it out, and you have an opponent that just won't go away?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, she's a very tough competitor. The birdie she made on the last hole was really, really good.
You got to stick to your game plan, know that you are playing against someone, but pars go a long way here.
And then obviously having 16, 17 as reachable par-5s, as a long hitter I knew I needed to get a good drive down there.
Overall played my game really well and stuck to the game plan.
Q. Speaking of game plans, Shadow Creek, first time here. Now with a few rounds under your belt, do you feel like you're getting to know the nuances of this golf course better?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, this place is brutal, especially in this weather. It was so cold this morning, too. So judging how far the ball was going to go and with the releases was just brutski.
I'm happy to get a couple rounds under my belt here and hopefully it'll help me towards the next match.
