Quick Quotes
Q. Great day today. Take us through your round. What was going well?
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, just played pretty solid really. Didn't really miss a fairway. Hit a lot of greens and holed one nice long eagle putt, which helped, and then just the rest were inside like five feet.
Q. Eagle on No. 3. Take us through that approach.
LOTTIE WOAD: Well, they moved the tee up, so it was very gettable. I think I had 148 in downwind, so I just hit a little 8-iron, and it hit the backstop. It was like 30, 40 feet long maybe, tricky down the hill and just dropped in the front edge. I was like, that's nice.
Q. I know your nana is in town, flew all the way over, 85 years old. What was her reaction to your round today?
LOTTIE WOAD: Well, she didn't see half of it I don't think. I think she came back and sat down. I actually don't know where she is, but I hope she enjoyed it.
Q. I'm sure she saw the eagle.
LOTTIE WOAD: I don't know if she saw that nine. I don't know. I'm hoping she heard about it.
Q. Where you are in position now compared to last year in the first round, how different is your feeling? It was a shaky start last year.
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, last year after the first round, I shot 5-over and I was probably a good 10 off the lead at that point, so it was more just trying to make the cut. But this year I put myself in a good position, so just going to try and keep contending and play well tomorrow and see what happens.
Q. Did you feel a lot more comfortable with this golf course the second time around?
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, it definitely helps playing it before. I feel like I was more nervous last year kind of being my first time. I kind of knew what to expect this time, and I just played better generally. I just didn't play well the first round last year.
