Quick Quotes
Q. Just take me through the last couple years. It's been a journey for you. Gone through the peaks, valleys, everything that comes with this event. Where are you mentally coming into this event knowing how amazing an opportunity this is.
ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, just trying to switch my mindset a little bit. Just ignore what happened last year. Think about the first year. Yeah, just I think it's important to just think about the good things and enjoy myself.
So that's kind of my plan. Just to go out and try my best and hopefully play good golf.
Q. How have you felt yourself grow over the last couple of years, everything that comes with the gravity of this event and all the success you have had here?
ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, I think especially after winning the event, playing in all the tour events and things like that, kind of led me to mature a little faster and grow up a little faster.
I think that comes with the mental side of the game, which is very important. Yeah, I think I have seen myself grow. Just especially with the situation last year, I think how I handled it was good and I think if you put me in that situation a few years ago it would've been a little different.
I think if I was put in that situation now I would handle it better than I did last year. Just things like that. Yeah, I think I have grown a little bit more on the mental aspect.
Q. I know once again, the difficult nature of this course.
ANNA DAVIS: Uh-huh.
Q. How valuable is it knowing you are coming back for round three and that you've been here, seen it, and now you have another shot?
ANNA DAVIS: Yes, I think when it's your first time playing it's a little stressful only having one practice round, so I think just knowing the golf course and having been -- like played it in many different conditions now, just kind of knowing the ins and outs and knowing how big of a beast it can be.
I think just keeping that in mind and knowing par is your friend on basically all of these holes is pretty important. Just keeping a level head is probably going to be key out here.
Q. Wanted to ask about college so far. How are you finding your time at Auburn compared to what you thought college would be in reality?
ANNA DAVIS: I mean, I've been really enjoying it. I've been having a great time. I love the people at Auburn.
I love my team, my coaches. They made it really easy to just acclimate to college, and been doing good in school so that's a plus.
Yeah, but I think it's met all my expectations and probably exceeded them. Yeah, I've been having a great time.
Q. You have homework going on this week?
ANNA DAVIS: Not really. A few assignments but nothing crazy.
Q. Was there a time where you thought you might not go to college and you might turn professional?
ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, I think I so. After winning ANWA that first year there was a little voice inside my head that said, maybe I won't go.
But I think thinking about it more, just realizing I have a lot more to experience in life than going and having a job basically.
So even just in the golf part, putting myself in more situations that I would face if I was on tour now. Just things like that, yeah.
