VALSPAR CHAMPIONSHIP

March 21, 2024

Jordan Spieth

Palm Harbor, Florida, USA

Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead)

Quick Quotes

Q. I know you didn't finish the way that you would have liked, but what are your overall takeaways from the day?

JORDAN SPIETH: I just gave away a number of shots. I made two bogeys from the fairway and then I was staring down birdie. Under par's good on this golf course, but we had some nice conditions, especially on the back nine when we had a more consistent wind, and then, you know, tomorrow looks iffy. I like the way I drove the ball. I just need to tighten things up from there.

Q. Coming off THE PLAYERS Championship, had a couple of days off, so what is the focus mechanically based on what you saw in your game back from PLAYERS?

JORDAN SPIETH: I didn't really take anything from TPC Sawgrass. I kind of look back to Bay Hill and think, okay, where am I really at, because I never really know leaving Sawgrass. It just -- same stuff. I'm not doing anything different. It's been a weird year. I've played well. I've had some weird circumstances that have kind of thrown some results out the window the last -- I had the flu and a cracked driver, just random stuff that's, like -- so I'm kind of a little uncertain of where things are. So hopefully I feel a little more stable this week and can continue to shoot under par each round, because if you do, you normally have a chance on Sunday at this course.

Q. Speaking of weird circumstances, you also serve as PGA TOUR policy board member had lots of business to deal with off the course, two kids, trying to be a professional golfer, what has it been like balancing all those things and actually going out there and competing?

JORDAN SPIETH: I think I've done a pretty good job in balancing everything, but it doesn't mean that anything's getting full attention. So that's okay right now, it's just a blip in time. Everything that I think I'm doing I think is doing the right thing. So I'm ready to come out the other side and take care of that and we'll get there.
