Quick Quotes
Q. You shot one of the lowest rounds today. That was impressive. How did you put a round like that together after being away from the game for 12 years?
ANTHONY KIM: I just kept doing what I've been working on the last two months. Obviously being away from the game for so long, it's been tough to practice and get all the things that I need to get prepared for the tournament, but I'm working on the right things at this moment. I'm enjoying my time with my family. The LIV Golf experience has been amazing. I'm just thankful.
Q. You've improved every round you've played here. That's six competitive rounds. How proud are you of yourself?
ANTHONY KIM: I'm very proud. Coming from where I came from over the last 10, 12 years, I'm just very grateful for this opportunity. Every step I walk, I feel blessed. So matter what I shoot, I feel like I've won. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth, but I'm trying to play this game with a lot of gratitude and live my life the same way.
Q. Are you starting to feel some confidence?
ANTHONY KIM: Definitely feeling a lot better about my golf game. Golf isn't as important as living the right way, and I'm focused on my family and doing the right things. Golf will come, and it's just a matter of time.
Q. I wanted to ask you about your putting.
ANTHONY KIM: My putting has been just trying to not overthink it, just find a target and go for it.
Q. It seemed like you holed almost everything today. I think you're leading the field this week in putting.
ANTHONY KIM: Oh, really? The first two days I didn't feel like I made a lot of putts, but today I putted really well. Saw the line well and just trusted my reads.
Q. Did you feel like this was coming, this 65 today? I know you were disappointed last week.
ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, I knew something good was coming. It's hard to stay patient when you feel like it's right there, and I'm really happy that it hasn't taken me one more round to get here.
I'm just happy about the progress I'm making and the confidence I'm building going into the next few weeks.
Q. Do you feel like you're ahead of expectations about what you expected or behind? I don't know how lofty your goals were.
ANTHONY KIM: My expectations are always high, and that's not always a great thing because it's easy to get down on yourself, and after last week, I was very disappointed. But I knew I just needed to keep plugging along. I have some great support behind me, and it feels really good to put up a good round.
Q. In terms of your confidence level, what does something like today do in terms of building for the future, building for Miami, going to Miami feeling like you're right there now?
ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, a ton to build on. I'm really excited about playing the game again. I haven't been that happy out on the golf course. Even when I'm not playing the best, I'm still enjoying being out there, and I think I play golf better that way.
Q. Did you have your family out here this week?
ANTHONY KIM: My family will be with me every week.
Q. Obviously that's a fuel for you.
ANTHONY KIM: Totally. My wife and my daughter are absolutely inspirational in how I live my life now. I'm just very appreciative to have their support. Obviously the fans in Hong Kong have been great, and I felt the support all week long.
Q. Will you keep a round like this in perspective? How do you view it yourself in terms of where this fits in the scheme of things?
ANTHONY KIM: Totally. It's just one round. It's just one round of golf. But I played the right way. I played the right way, and I didn't do anything extraordinary. I just played like I know how to play. The scores were what they are.
Q. Obviously you can feel how many people are backing you, supporting you. How nice of a feel is that that everybody wants you to do well?
ANTHONY KIM: It's an amazing feeling. The LIV family has taken me in. I got to spend some time with the bosses of LIV, and coming from them, the players, caddies, everyone has been so supportive of me getting back into this game. I couldn't be more grateful.
