Quick Quotes
Q. I am here with Janet at the first round of the Blue Bay LPGA. Janet, talk to us about your round.
XIYU LIN: I think I played very solid today. Actually I played better than what the score shows, so I think most of the round I put together a very solid strategies and stuff.
Just unfortunately at the last couple holes when I missed a shot, it was just a bit of a bad kick that one is right against a tree and another one at a place really hard to save par.
Coming in with two bogeys is a little bit disappointing, but overall solid start.
Q. Anything you noticed about this course? You just mentioned some unlucky breaks. Is that easy to get into out here?
XIYU LIN: I think for sure. I just keep telling myself really the key here is to save as many pars as possible. So I think everyone is going to get bad kicks. The green is very challenging so you just never know. You miss by an inch and it's in two completely different place.
Yeah, I think I did really well in approach shot. Honestly, I think I executed really well, but just when I missed it, I mean, I don't know. Maybe I can save a couple more tomorrow.
Q. Did you find the greens to be hard or soft?
XIYU LIN: I think it's fair.
Q. Yeah.
XIYU LIN: Used to play way harder out here in the fall time. Right now it's fair. I think this morning it wasn't so windy so that makes it a little easier, too.
Q. You played here one other time?
XIYU LIN: I played here every year.
Q. What have you noticed different about the course this time compared to the last few times?
XIYU LIN: Well, first of all, it's a different time of the year we play here, spring instead of fall, so wind direction change a lot.
And the last three holes they did some changes. I think they're challenging little holes, even though they actually play shorter. But it's couple good ones. So I think here it's almost like a major setup. I think every shot you really have to concentrate because once you lost it, it's never no way your ball going to be -- one little miss can cause it really, really far away.
