PGA National Champion Course
Quick Quotes
Q. 14-under previously would have been the best score for somebody to win this event on this course. What did you think of your performance this week, and would you have thought that was a winning score on Thursday?
MIN WOO LEE: I mean, not really a winning score. There's a lot of times where you just kind of think like too far ahead, so it was just a one-shot-at-a-time kind of moment, especially after the rain delay. Yeah, really proud of the way I handled myself this week. Obviously bad swing on 6 when I made a double bogey on the par-3, which stung. I was off to a hot start there, and that kind of put me back.
To finish like that and to start after the rain delay like that, really good moment, and pat on the back. Yeah, looking forward to the next couple events.
Q. What have the last 48 hours been like for you? Have you had an experience like that being in contention?
MIN WOO LEE: I feel like with the rain delays, I feel like that's nearly happened every week so far. Obviously the weather hasn't been cooperative while we've played.
It was hectic. It was hectic but also I needed to just keep my head in the game. I don't really have that many Monday finishes -- I've been included in a Monday finish. It was pretty tough to regroup and lock in. Last night I was just on my phone for a couple hours just like, what am I doing, I need to get sleep. It felt like it was the end of the tournament, but we had another 12 hours of golf to play.
Q. One of the storylines coming in this week was the changes to the course. Now that you're finished, what were your takeaways from the course this week and the way it played, especially the 10th hole?
MIN WOO LEE: I really love that. For me, obviously a longer hitter, it obviously shaped to my liking a bit more just because if I hit it pretty straight, it's okay, but when it was the forward tee, if I hit it too straight, then it would go straight through. I really like the hole. I played the hole in 5-under or something, so I really enjoyed it.
Q. Just got confirmed you're in next week to Bay Hill. Just love to get your reaction on that and AON Swing 5.
MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, obviously just thinking about that. My manager Brent signed me up for that yesterday and I saw it on the email, and I know he tried to do it on the low, but I did see it come through the email saying that I was signed up for it just in case I do -- I think it was a solo third. I knew that before last night that I needed to play like that.
Yeah, it's amazing. I was thinking about it coming down the stretch. Obviously thinking about the win, but yeah, was a really proud moment today.
