Quick Quotes
Q. Solid round, T2 through the morning wave. Take us through how the day went for you.
CHESSON HADLEY: Yeah, I played nice today. I wouldn't say that I hit it as well as I needed to. I just scrambled really well. I made a couple par putts six to ten feet and just made all the birdie putts that I probably should have and then kind of a bonus birdie on 17.
I'm very pleased with the day. Got some great breaks, and just going to enjoy lunch, tidy a few things up on the range afterwards, and get after it tomorrow.
Q. Looking at your season, I think three of four made cuts, a couple top 30s. How do you feel like your game has been throughout the season and what are you working on?
CHESSON HADLEY: Yeah, my game has felt great. I've been really close to -- I'm not hitting it poorly. Like I said, there's a couple things I just want to clean up, and I'm really close to hitting it exceptionally well.
With that being said, I'm not hitting it poorly, either.
I've been happy with the start of the year, and I like this week. It's kind of a grinder's course a little bit, and I can kind of grind with the best of them. I'm very happy with the start.
Q. You say it's a grinder's course. A lot of years 6-, 7-under might be leading going into the final round. It seems like it's going to be lower scores this year. How do you adjust your game to that?
CHESSON HADLEY: Yeah, the conditions were really -- are softer out there right now. Today was probably the calmest I've ever seen it from the wind standpoint. Typically it's 10 to 15, gusting to 20 every single day here, and I'm sure we'll see that as the week progresses.
Fortunately I was able to take advantage of the conditions today and shoot 6-under. It probably will continue to go a little bit lower, but it'll show its teeth. It always does.
Typically if you're just hanging around on Sunday, you can put together something, and it can be a special weekend.
Q. When you wake up, you show up to the course and you see that there's no wind to speak of, are you just licking your chops, like get me out there, I want to play?
CHESSON HADLEY: Yeah, absolutely, because you don't know how long it's going to last, and you don't see that very often around here. The greens were receptive, as well, so it was let's go. It was no problem always trying to go after it today.
