Quick Quotes
Q. Can you categorize your round? Were you comfortable out there today? How is the back?
DANIEL BERGER: Everything was good, yeah. It was a good start. I think I actually played really well today. Hit some really good shots. Played the Bear Trap well. Overall just a good start to the tournament.
Q. Was the wind an issue at all?
DANIEL BERGER: I think it picked up a little bit at the end of the round, but I'm not sure what the forecast is tomorrow. We're going to go out early, so hopefully it doesn't blow too hard.
Q. Being local, do you feel you were more comfortable out there versus coming back to another course? You've got a lot of history.
DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, I think having a ton of rounds under my belt here is nice. I think I was out here for two hours on Tuesday, and that's the gist of my practice out here, so I've spent a lot of time out here.
Q. How many rounds have you had out here with these kind of conditions?
DANIEL BERGER: This felt pretty tame, to be honest. I've played here where 2-under par is tied for fourth place. Obviously the golf course has changed a little. It's a little easier right now. But I expect as the week goes on to get a little tougher as the greens get firmer.
Q. I know the Bear Trap is a pretty difficult stretch, but 5, 6 and 7 are also pretty tough. Can you speak to how that played today?
DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, I almost think 5, 6 and 7 can be tougher than the Bear Trap. It's one of those stretches of holes where a par, you feel like you're gaining shots on the field, so if you can maintain that momentum throughout the week and just think that par is a good score, you're in a good position.
