Quick Quotes
Q. 69 in the second round; how would you rate your performance today?
CHRISTIAAN MAAS: Very frustrating. Very, very frustrating. Pretty much the same, a little bit better than yesterday. Yesterday also probably could not have shot a worse round than what I did. Hitting the ball very good. Giving myself a lot of opportunities. Missed a bunch of putts inside of 10 feet, inside of 8 feet. Again today I missed a couple opportunities.
Hit a bad tee shot, kind of gusted on 7, ended up short in the water, made double.
Then hit it close on 10.
Two-putted 11 for birdie.
13, pulled it into the left trouble, made bogey there on the par-5.
Made a couple birdies from there.
Chipped in on 17, great chip.
Just had to finish it off on 18 by hitting it out of bounds off the tee and then into the water with my fourth shot.
Q. Seemed like a mixture for you today. You had a great run of birdies just before the end there. Were you satisfied with them?
CHRISTIAAN MAAS: Yeah, that was good. I finally got something going. I've been playing very stop-start golf the last two days and finally made a couple in a row, one good putt on 16 and a chip-in on 17. Would have been nice to hit a decent tee shot on 18. Would have been nice making birdie there. But hopefully I can do that tomorrow.
Q. You're still very much in contention going into the weekend. You've mentioned it's a kind of stop-start game at the moment. Do you feel like something is ready to click in your game and you're ready to get a run together?
CHRISTIAAN MAAS: Hopefully. Hopefully the next two days I can put a bogey-free round together somewhere, hopefully tomorrow, and be closer to the lead. Altin is playing very well. Highly doubt he's going to come back anytime. The goal was to get into the final group today, get into it. But yeah, we'll see where I end up, then hopefully get off to a good start tomorrow and not make any doubles again.
