Q. Excellent opening round. 8-under par, 64. You were 1-under par through seven holes and then really caught fire after that.

PEIYUN CHIEN: I wish I can play like this every day, because golf is so hard.

Q. Four par-5s here at Siam Country Club; three birdies and eagle on those holes. You took full advantage of what we call the scoring holes here.

PEIYUN CHIEN: Actually most the Par-5 easy to reach and I play here twice. I have many chances to make the eagle and I just take the chance and I made it.

Q. You enjoyed a really successful 2023. Finished No. 49 on the Race to CME Globe standings, but in your last six events, two Top 5 finishes; how much confidence did that give you coming into the season?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Yeah, last year is my best year finish and I tried to play more safe second shot and just make one putt, not too aggressive. A lot of time I went to short side and cannot make the par. I'm pretty consistent.
