THE LPGA DRIVE ON CHAMPIONSHIP

January 28, 2024

Lydia Ko

Bradenton, Florida, USA

Bradenton Country Club

TV

Q. Lydia, I know this one will sting a little bit. What happened on this putt there in the playoff?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, you know, actually hit a good stroke on it. Just broke a little bit more than I thought. The first putt, it's difficult I think when there is a lot of grain.

I didn't think I hit it that far short. Obviously I misjudged the slope and the grain of it.

I played really solid today. I had a few three-putts today and I think that was at the end like that was what I think cost the tournament. To be able to eagle the 17 and have a chance of win long when I thought I was a ways behind, it was nice to be in contention again two weeks in a row.

Q. It was a wild day really today. Just seeing it from your group's perspective, but it was back and forth. That shot you mentioned there on 17 was exquisite. Talk about it?

LYDIA KO: To be honest, I thinned it a little bit, so I thought it was going in the water. But I made just enough contact that it carried the water and it just ended up being a very stress-free eagle. I had a really good two-putt here on the 72nd hole as well.

I played really well. If I go down the hole of saying those shots that maybe like, oh, if I did that a little better then it's just endless. Good to be able to finish, win last week and finish second this week.
