Q. How does it feel to be standing here holding that trophy?

ADRIAN MERONK: Thank you, yeah, it feels amazing. I'm shocked to be honest. I didn't expect that. You got me by surprise.

But seeing my name next to all of these players, it's unbelievable. I'm very grateful for this award. It means a lot to me that other players appreciate my season last year. Yeah, it's a great feeling.

Q. It's a great reward for such a great season and a consistent season, as well.

ADRIAN MERONK: Yeah, definitely. Last year was the best season so far in my career. I'm really happy that other players saw that, as well and give that award. Just thank you for that and I have to keep going.

Q. Knowing how much Seve means to this tour, to be holding a trophy with his name on it, is a little bit extra special, too.

ADRIAN MERONK: Yeah, it is special. Like I said, expect that. I'm in shock and just really honored to have my name on the trophy, and yeah, just really, really honoured.

Q. And a big boost heading into this week, a very important week, a Rolex Series Event, of course. It must give you great pleasure, obviously, heading out to the course now, knowing that you've got ahold of this trophy as well.

ADRIAN MERONK: Yes, exactly, that should give me all the more confidence probably. I enjoy this week. I love playing here in Dubai. It's probably one of my favourite tournaments of the year. So I'm excited to be here. We have such a great field this week. So I will just enjoy every moment.
