Quick Quotes
Q. Let's forget the golf. Let's talk about the beaver.
BRIAN HARMAN: You want to talk about the beavers?
Q. Let's talk about the beaver.
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, sure, man.
Q. What happened?
BRIAN HARMAN: No, we got these very aggravating beavers building their cities and so we're really mad at 'em.
Q. How did you take care of it? What club?
BRIAN HARMAN: (Laughing). An MB 750 is what we did. (Laughing). For those that know will no (laughing).
Q. Highlight of your round today?
BRIAN HARMAN: I think the last five or six holes. I made the double on 14, I guess, 13 or 14, whatever hole that is, and played really, really good golf coming in. Just nice, like I knew I was playing pretty good, and made one kind of loose swing and it just kind of happen around here sometimes. Made a 6. But just settled down and hit some really good shots coming in.
Q. How did you spend the off-season?
BRIAN HARMAN: A lot of farming, man.
Q. Killing beavers.
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, yeah. Just spent a lot of time down at the farm and just unwinding from the year. It was a crazy year, so I needed some down time, for sure.
Q. Anything fun with the Claret Jug yet?
BRIAN HARMAN: We had a trip to Augusta National with it. It was really cool. Then I went out on the field during the Georgia/Ole Miss game. So that was probably the highlight of the partying with it so far. We've partied with it. It's quite the party trick. It's been a lot of fun to possess for a year.
Q. When was the trip to Augusta?
BRIAN HARMAN: We just, Kisner and I had it planned, it was the Georgia/Florida weekend. So a couple Georgia guys, some dear friends, we went up there, watched the game, played golf, and had some good food. Just bro'ing out up there.
Q. You brought it with you?
BRIAN HARMAN: I did.
Q. Did you bring it out and say, Do you have one of these yet?
BRIAN HARMAN: It's cool, man, I mean, obviously to have. Like, it's an antique, it's a relic. It's like a golfing past. Then to have that at Augusta National, which is kind of like the next incredible golf landmark, it was just pretty neat.
Q. What do you enjoy about this golf course?
BRIAN HARMAN: Nothing specific that I enjoy about it, it's a cool golf course. We don't really play anywhere like this. There's so much elevation change. I like that there's a lot of shots that if you execute it correctly you know it's going towards the hole. It just feels like if you come out and you execute shots you get rewarded for well-hit, executed golf shots.
Q. Do you feel like things could change with having a little bit earlier tee time today and maybe going a little bit later tomorrow?
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, it's certainly a different dynamic around here with a larger field, threesomes. Normally we're in twosomes and we don't tee off until 10 in the morning. So that's the earliest I teed off by like three hours in a golf tournament. So, the golf course plays a little different to start with, but as the back nine and stuff it was a pretty familiar feeling.
Q. Do you have an opinion on whether top 50 should be here instead of winning?
BRIAN HARMAN: I'm not sure. I think it's a nice, it's a nice opportunity. Because you can have a really good year and not win. I think it helps the competitiveness of the field. Golf -- we have the best practice rounds here. In a cart, you can play 18 holes in two hours, it seems like.
Q. If you have a really nice year that probably puts you at East Lake, right?
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, I don't know.
Q. Do you know why they did it?
BRIAN HARMAN: I think that they -- I think they want to reward guys for finishing in the top 50, that's like the simplest answer. I think it's good. It's certainly lends itself to a more competitive field. But I'm not definitive one way or the other.
