Quick Quotes
DVON ELLIES: From Game 1, I just remember going into the locker room, and everybody in celebration. That was the first time we really had a chance to showcase the defense and all the work that we put in in the off-season, and we got our flowers from it.
All throughout the season, it's just either been a celebration or just corrections, little corrections here and there that will make us better. But I definitely remember those moments, definitely more than the shutouts at times, I feel like.
Q. What's this game mean then for the defense? How does this fit in for you? How much does this matter? What can it show?
DVON ELLIES: I mean, we respect them tremendously. It just gives us a different look on offense that we haven't seen all season from a lot of Big Ten teams. The skills that they have offensively with their skill positions and their schemes is definitely unlike anything we've ever seen.
They try to get a lot of plays off. They try to get their ball to their skill position players. They try to put it in the running back's hand. And they want to control the clock.
They have tremendous running backs who run very, very hard, and that's what they want to do. They want to control the clock, get points on the board, and take our offense off the field.
But I think this game is just going to be a testament to who we've been all season. Just consistently being able to compete with anybody. We adjust and just play hard no matter who's out there.
