Flash Interview
Q. All right, I'm here with Jenny Shin at the CME Group Tour Championship. Solid round today, included a hole-in-one out there. Can you walk us through the shot and how it went?
JENNY SHIN: 141, right to left into the wind; hit just a solid 8-iron. It was drawing into the hole; landed five feet short, and I saw it hop in the hole.
The crowd went wild, so I was like, oh, okay, hole-in-one; I'll take that.
Yeah, felt great.
Q. And was that your first hole-in-one?
JENNY SHIN: No, that was my fifth hole-in-one.
Q. And then there is a donation every time someone gets a hole-in-one out here to St. Jude's. What does that mean that your hole-in-one is benefitting them as well?
JENNY SHIN: You know, I'm really glad it benefitted someone. You know, I think CME is pretty amazing for doing such work, so I'm glad I can contribute to something.
Don't think it contributed much to my round, but, hey, as long as it goes somewhere, very happy about that.
Q. You did still have a solid round out there. Anything that stood out to you about how you played today? Putting?
JENNY SHIN: Well, the last two rounds I've been putting pretty poorly, so the hole-in-one definitely helped. Yeah, I was like anything to not putt. I'm very happy about that.
Q. You said fifth ace. Is that fifth lifetime ace? Because I know you've had two out here.
JENNY SHIN: Fifth lifetime ace and fourth one in a golf tournament.
Q. Awesome.
JENNY SHIN: I seem to do most of mine in tournaments.
Q. Do you remember where the -- I know there are two out here on the LPGA, right?
JENNY SHIN: Yeah. One was the British Open and the other one was at now Chevron.
Q. That's kind of cool.
JENNY SHIN: Yeah, so two majors, yeah.
Q. Where was the other one?
JENNY SHIN: My first ever was U.S. Am. I remember the hole vividly. I just don't remember the name of the golf course.
And the other one was at home course in Long Beach, California.
