Quick Quotes
Q. 67 to join your fellow countryman at top of the leaderboard. Tell us how you feel coming off 18 especially after draining that 40-birdie putt?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, that's a nice feeling. That's the longest putt I made today, so it's always to end like this. It's such a nice hole to finish with. Very pleased with today.
Q. How do you find the course? It presents a lot of the same challenges that you talked about last week at the Nedbank off the tee about not short-siding yourself. I imagine that result has put you in good speed this week?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, it has been some good weeks so far. Nedbank was good. Just didn't close it the way I wanted on Sunday, and obviously this round was very solid.
I think the golf course is less scary off the tee to be fair. It looks very wide, even if some of the fairway can be tight at some point. Just continued to play well today.
Q. Do you feel like a little bit of a weight has been lifted off your shoulders now that that first win is out of the way?
MATTHIEU PAVON: To be fair, the only weight which is really released is now I know with my team, we were working on the right way. For sure, I had a great, solid year, many Top 10s but I was missing something to get my first victory, and I finally got it in Madrid.
Yeah, it's more confirmation of what we achieve with my team so far and it was nice to have it done a few weeks ago, and put me in a good way mentally to play these last two tournaments of the year.
Q. As special as the season has been, how incredible would it be to walk away from this week with an incredible result?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, that would be special. Everybody is talking about the PGA TOUR spot. That is one of my dreams but it wasn't a goal when I started the year. So I'm trying to get my goals done first and if something comes great at the end of the week, that would be fantastic.
