Q. How did it feel getting off to a two-touchdown lead, first time special teams touchdown, and then you were able to run 29 yards and get a pitch play going to Tyrell for a touchdown. How did that start feel?
BRYSON DAILY: Defense really stepped up today. Getting that first stop and then Elo getting the big touchdown, that's awesome as an offense, to know your defense has your back, special teams has your back. Them giving us that cushion to start the game was huge, and then the first scoring drive was big for our offense.
Q. You get the 69-yard pass to Casey Reynolds but they call it that he's down on the 1-yard line. You had the penalty and the 4th down play. Seemed like you got hit hard short of the goal line?
BRYSON DAILY: Yeah, so it was unfortunate Casey wasn't able to get in. But we get down to the 1-yard line we've got to score. That's just mental errors on the penalty, and we can't have that as an offense if we want to keep winning games.
That scenario we've just got to be better. When we get down to the red zone, we've got to score touchdowns. We let the team down on that drive, and that's something we're going to have to get better at.
Q. Just seemed like you resurrected the pitch play to Tyrell at least three times that I saw. Didn't seem like Holy Cross was expecting it, so you had success on those plays. Was that something you saw as an opportunity today?
BRYSON DAILY: Yeah, the look they were giving us was favorable for that play, and they kept giving us the same looks, so we were able to have success on that play, and then T-Rob, he's a great player, so getting him the ball any way we can, is huge.
Q. Can you talk about that fourth quarter play at the end of the game and getting that 1st down and what the offense had to do to get there?
BRYSON DAILY: Yeah, back to what I was saying, on the goal line we didn't get it. That's a culture play. 4th and 1, we have to get those every single time. So the O-line stepped up and created a hole, running backs knocked the linebackers back, and I was able to get across for the 1st down to seal the game. That was huge for our offense.
Q. On that note, wanted to ask about the last two drives in the game because they had held you guys in check for most of the second half, but you get the field goal on the last drive and then your final 11 yards kind of seal it. Was there a message you had to the rest of the unit, and if so, what did you tell them?
BRYSON DAILY: It was just finish the game. Like finish the game on our terms. Don't let them have the ball back and let the defense try to win it for us because the defense played spectacular the whole game. They're the reason we won that game.
We had to step up as an offensive unit to help this football team. That was the message. We've got to pull our end of the bargain and help the defense, help the special teams.
Thankfully we were able to do that at the end.
Q. Obviously you don't want to get caught looking ahead, but at the same time, how have you guys set yourselves up to end this season on a high note?
BRYSON DAILY: Yeah, we're looking -- now we're just looking just to Coastal Carolina, get a big win for the seniors on senior night. That's the only focus right now.
Q. What does it mean to win at home on Veterans Day?
BRYSON DAILY: It's awesome. We've struggled at home this year, and that's something we haven't done in Monken's time here.
It was huge getting a win for us, the corps, all the veterans out there watching. It was a big win.
Q. I asked the other guys the same question. Coming off the Air Force win, there's always a chance of a letdown. I didn't see that at all. I saw a real tough performance by Army and a very tight game. Came down to a couple of plays. Talk about that if you could.
BRYSON DAILY: Yeah, I think guys did a really good job this week of not letting the noise of oh, you guys played great against Air Force, you got a big win, I don't think guys let that get to them.
I think guys came out and were playing really hard. We've just got to execute better on offense.
But overall I think guys were playing hard, and they were ready for this game.
Q. The defense played better than they've played this year, but I thought Army did what you had to do to win the game.
BRYSON DAILY: Yes, sir. At the end of the day, that's all that matters. A win is a win, no matter how pretty, how ugly. It was great to get a win on the field. Defense has been playing lights out the past two weeks, and that helps our confidence as an offense.
Q. It appears that we're seeing flashes of the old Tyrell Robinson. Do you sense yourself utilizing him more in the offense, and what is your assessment of his continued progress and performance?
BRYSON DAILY: Yeah, he's still the old 2-1 that everyone has grown to love. He's still a baller. Every week we're trying to find ways to get the ball in his hands, and today the look Holy Cross was giving us was favorable to get T-Rob the ball. Continuing to get him the ball is what's going to lead to more success moving on.
Q. This is a couple weeks in a row where the offense hasn't been able to punch the ball in in the second half. How concerned are you about four-quarter consistency?
BRYSON DAILY: Yeah, it's frustrating. That's something we've dealt with all year, trying to put together four quarters to help this football team. We didn't do that today, but thankfully the defense and the special teams stepped up and allowed us to get the win.
Q. On the play where you got stuck at the goal line, you had a couple real big blockers out there on the right side. I know it's your decision on when they'll move. Do you look back and say, maybe I should have gone a little further out to the right side, or did you just see something there in the middle?
BRYSON DAILY: Yes, sir, that's something I'll see in film. Haven't got a chance to watch it yet. But definitely I made a decision to go inside, and it wasn't the right one.
We'll see if there was something on the outside. But yeah, obviously I'd always rather do something different once it doesn't work out.
Q. Obviously you guys have won two in a row after the five-game losing streak. How much better does this feel?
BRYSON DAILY: Winning is awesome. Winning makes everything a lot better. Yeah, winning is great. Hopefully we continue that streak these last two games.
Q. If you can tell me what are some things that your offense needs to improve upon.
BRYSON DAILY: The glaring thing the past two weeks has been penalties. There's not been many drives the past two weeks that we just couldn't move the ball, that the defense stopped us. It was just mental mistakes, getting penalties is what has killed us these past two weeks. So that's something we've just got to clean up, and then just overall execution.
