Quick Quotes
Q. Joined now by Muni He. Muni, bogey-free on the day. Just what was working so well for you out there?
MUNI HE: I'm not sure. I think my putter was pretty hot on the front nine; on the back nine it slowed down a little.
I was still putting myself in the right position even if I missed the green, giving myself an easy uphill chip.
It's really easy to short side yourself out here.
Q. What was it about -- you maybe mentioned it, the putting. Anything else about the course that suited your strengths that you played the front nine a little bit better than your back?
MUNI HE: Well, I'm not super familiar with the Florida grass. I didn't grow up here. I've gotten better over the years and last year I had an okay week here, so it's just being familiar, a bit more familiar with the course.
I think in comparison to last year, the greens are more receptive as well, which has been helpful today.
Q. Absolutely. Was there any birdies that you had specifically that maybe stood out to you? You had the two in a row. Take us through that.
MUNI HE: I don't even remember the two in a row. On the front nine I did have two longer putts where I didn't expect to make it and I did. I think draining one of those always helps to kick off the momentum.
Q. When your putting is working so well on day one, is that a confidence boost as you head into the rest of the week? Maybe where if you need to work on some other things, you know putting isn't one of them.
MUNI HE: You would think so, but I think putting can come and go. When you drain one of those long putts, yes, of course I think my speed and roll has been decent today. Some of it is luck as well.
Just going to try to maintain my putting this week.
Q. Last one: What will you take away from today's round as you head into tomorrow?
MUNI HE: I think I get to go back and relax now, so hopefully keep it nice and easy, keep putting myself in good positions, and swing it easy.
