Press Conference
Q. Yuka Saso, how excited are you to be teeing it up in Japan this week?
YUKA SASO: I'm very excited. Obviously I played in this golf course TOTO event 2020, COVID year, and that was my first year as a pro and I was so excited to play because I know TOTO, it was one of the LPGA events. Because of COVID it wasn't officially LPGA event, so I was a little bit sad. So it's good to be back and playing TOTO again here on this golf course as an LPGA event.
Q. What is it that you like about this golf course that made you excited to play here?
YUKA SASO: What do I like about it?
Q. Uh-huh.
YUKA SASO: Just my first TOTO event. I was expecting to be my first LPGA event but it wasn't, so, yeah, I think that's made it a little bit special.
Q. You played some practice rounds now. What do you think the course, the conditions, how it may suit your game or not?
YUKA SASO: It's always awesome to play in Japan. Not only in Japan, but the conditions are very good. Greens are fast. Weather is good. Not too hot. Not too cold.
Yeah, I mean, more than what I expected condition-wise, so I think it's in great condition.
Q. As we're wrapping up the end of the season, what are the big goals and how do you want the season to end?
YUKA SASO: I still have two tournaments including this, this and CME. My main goal was to be injury-free, and I've been playing most of the season.
So, yeah, I think season been pretty good. Hopefully I can make more good memories for two weeks. And, yeah, I think also like playing Asia, I really enjoy it. So I'm really excited, yeah.
Q. I know you said injury-free, but recap your season for us. What are some of the best parts of the season and your game?
YUKA SASO: Yeah, I think I had few Top 10s this year, and I think I finish Top 5 of two majors, KPMG and Evian. Is that right?
Q. I can fact check that.
YUKA SASO: She can double-check and confirm with you guys. I think I played some good golf and there was some weeks that I was struggling, but overall, I learned a lot, made a lot of good memories, and played in new golf courses. Very nice golf courses.
KPMG at Baltusrol and U.S. Open at Pebble and Mizuho, a new tournament, at Liberty National, where most of the -- I mean, me, came to play. So, yeah, it's been a good year.
