BMW LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

October 22, 2023

Jodi Ewart Shadoff

Busan, South Korea

LPGA International Busan

Quick Quotes

Q. Nice with a I to wrap up the BMW Ladies Championship. What was the key going into a final day like this?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Try to make as many birdies as I can. I didn't have a very good finish yesterday, and I was trying really hard to get those shots back. I just kind of got on a run and hit some really nice shots on the back nine and holed some putts. Very steady day, bogey-free, can't complain and nice on 18 holing the bunker shot.

Q. What happened on 18?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: I didn't hit the greatest shot from the fairway but you know, hit a really perfect bunker shot exactly how I imagined it and the crowds are incredible out here, and to get a roar like that, I've been hearing it all day for Hyo Joo, so to get one for myself was really cool.

Q. How was it playing with someone with a Korean fan club such as hers?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: It was great. The fans here are some of the best fans we play in front of. Very enthusiastic. They just love golf. She holed a chip on 14, probably one of the loudest roars I have ever heard. It was really cool. That stretch of holes, there was a lot of fans. It's a really good showing today and really cool.

Q. After all of the different conditions over the last three rounds, what did a round like this mean to you today?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, obviously to shoot 65 in the last round means a lot. Hopefully will hang on for a Top-10 again, three in a row.

Yeah, obviously I'm having a good stretch of golf right now. Putting in a lot of work and made a couple swing changes and playing through it and starting to see the results.

Q. You talked about the work that you've put in leading up to kind of this stretch here. What does it feel like to kind of have the feeling in your game that you currently do and what does it mean to see it come to fruition?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, it's great. A couple of swing changes we had planned on making during off-season, and I pushed to start making them now so I could play under tournament conditions. It seems more simple than I originally thought.

My coach, Grant Waite, is making it very simple and easy for me to understand which is really cool. I'm still hitting a couple shots, like on 18 today, but overall I'm hitting the ball much closer than I have been all year.

Yeah, my putting has been great over the past three tournaments. So I think I have to give a lot of credit to that.

Q. What do you take away from this experience going into Malaysia?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: We used to play Malaysia back in the day. I'm kind of prepared for warmer conditions and coming off a 65 finish, hopefully a Top-10 will be mentally really good for me. Looking forward to it.
