Quick Quotes
Q. All right, Pauline, playing pretty well here at Stage II. Before you decided to turn pro, what was the thought process or everything when you decided to go turn pro? What was the turning point when you decided that?
PAULINE DEL ROSARIO: So I turned pro after high school. I knew what I wanted to do, which was play professional golf and not go through the college route.
I just stuck with my decision and committed myself to playing professional golf and everything it takes to be a professional golfer.
Q. And then you made your first Stage II appearance after finishing in the Top 5 on the WAPT. Talk about that first season our an American-based professional women's tour.
PAULINE DEL ROSARIO: I've been playing in Asia before the pandemic. I came here after the pandemic and played the WAPT and, like you said, made the Top 5. I came here and all the girls were so good. I knew I had to level up my game and lessen my errors and fine tune everything.
I think that's what it takes to play on a higher level of golf. I've been trying to do that since 2021, so this is my third appearance. Each year I just try to better what I've been working on.
Q. Is there anything you've taken from the last two times that you're trying to work into this week?
PAULINE DEL ROSARIO: Definitely. Playing Stage II is really nerve-wracking. For any player. So we try to just hone everything together for just this one week and keep our nerves together.
Q. You've been steadily climbing each year on the Epson Tour. How that the Epson Tour prepared you for Stage II and hopefully Q Series later this year?
PAULINE DEL ROSARIO: I feel like it's really useful if you want to see the weaknesses of your game. I really been seeing what I need to work on, and it's been really helpful playing with really good girls week after week.
I think that's helped my game a lot. Just competing with girls from different places and different skill levels.
Q. Is there maybe something you saw from other players you try to implement into your game?
PAULINE DEL ROSARIO: Definitely. A lot of girls are so consistent and putting is A class. I'm just trying to be like them and just improve in that each week.
Q. Good round yesterday. What kind of momentum does that give you going into the rest of this week now?
PAULINE DEL ROSARIO: I'm trying to feel calm knowing that I could post a round under par and I don't have like a big score to like post today to get into the cut line.
I just want to keep the momentum going by staying calm and doing my routine and my process.
