Q. So bogey-free 5-under round. Talk about your experience at Stage I so far. How does your game feel?

MALIA NAM: Yeah, obviously my experience at Stage I went well. Got through. Shot 10-under.

So leading into Stage II honestly, I think the nerves were a little bit higher. I feel like this is a pretty crucial stage.

But I feel good. Honestly, not really nervous as I thought I was going to be. I think I've been more nervous for some college events than this. But I think that's just because I've been able to practice on what I need to do. Now that I'm done with school my schedule is a little bit freer, so I think that's one of the main reasons why I'm trusting my game a little bit more.

Q. Obviously the top 40 is the big number everyone is shooting for this week. 5-under round goes a long way to help you get there. Does that creep into your head when you're playing, or is it one thing at a time?

MALIA NAM: Honestly, bogey-free 5-under, yes, it does. It is a good round. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little disappointed because the last three or four holes missed some really makable birdie opportunities.

In my head I think every birdie is -- it's in the bank. It's one less that you need to make.

No, 67 goes a long way, and I'm just pleased to have a better round than yesterday. Yeah, there is two more full days of golf, so still got to play well to get in the top 40.

Q. You mentioned maybe not the best round yesterday, but followed up today. How do you get into the mindset, put that behind, and you try put together something good the next day?

MALIA NAM: I like to chase, you know. I feel like it's easier to chase than try to maintain a good round. But, I mean, it just kind of -- that anger that fills inside you when you have a bad round, just kind of -- I knew the morning round was going to be less windy and probably the course was going to be -- I'm trying to think of the word.

Q. Gettable?

MALIA NAM: Yeah, more gettable. I just knew I had to stay patient. Putts yesterday didn't drop, so hopefully today they dropped. Yeah, just got play some good golf the next two days.
