Quick Quotes
Q. So just talking a little bit about your round today, you come out to the first stage round of Stage II, bogey-free, how did it feel walking off that last green?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I mean, it felt pretty good. As I told Gabby earlier, I had birdied all the par-5s before nine so I was just like, okay, hit it up on the green and just -- I only had a 5-wood in, so just hit up on the green, two-putt, and walk out of there with a birdie.
So it felt really good. Overall, all day it was solid. It felt like golf was very easy today.
Q. Love that. And usually -- I mean not usually -- there is a lot of fierce competition out there. I know there is three days left of golf, so still some golf to be played. You have all of these big names and incredible athletes out there. How does it feel to end the day close to the top, two shots back from the medalist right now per se?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I mean -- oh, two shots?
Q. Yes. Someone is at 7.
INGRID LINDBLAD: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah, it's cool. I mean, I feel like it proves that's where I belong. That's what I was thinking about today. I feel like I have the game to play here and, I mean, that's what I've proven at least today. Hopefully keep that going.
Q. You told Gabby a little bit earlier you plan on probably playing that last season at LSU. That would mean that coming out of Q-II, if you did add advance to Q-Series, you would have status on the Epson Tour at the end of your collegiate career. How does that feel knowing that you're going to have status to play professional as soon as you graduate?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I mean, it feels pretty good because, I mean, college, it's like such a safe place. Like everything is set up for you and just I feel like coming out when you're done with college, like you know you have somewhere to play.
I'm very happy that I'm able to play Stage II and just feel like I have somewhere to play when I'm done in college.
Q. Looking at the Epson Tour history, you have people like Lilia Vu and Nelly Korda, Madelene Sagstrom, all of those big names that have gone from the Epson Tour on to really great careers on the LPGA. How do you think that would help you coming out to the Epson Tour, getting some experience and then really pursuing that dream of getting to the LPGA Tour?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I mean, it's really cool to see that like -- I know some of them didn't go to college, and I mean, it's cool to see you can go through the Epson Tour from college or just from amateur golf.
To see them now, they're pretty amazing athletes and like really good golfers, so hopefully I can follow that same steps, you know.
Q. Absolutely. Kind of talking a little bit more about your time at LSU, you have a decorated amateur career. Got to play with some LPGA greats. Being on a team with Maja Stark who did well in the Solheim Cup this year and having some high accolades at LSU -- I think you were SEC Player of the Year, correct?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Yeah, twice.
Q. Yep. So big stats already. Leaving LSU at the end of next year, but what goals do you have to continue achieving at the highest level?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I mean, I think I'm playing golf because like you can always get better. Like there is no limit. Like you can always do something better each round, and I think like every since like a couple years ago I've always said I want to see how good I can be.
So far, I mean, I played some really good golf in my life, so I just feel like see how good I can be and like see how I can compete with the other players that are on the LPGA.
So far, I mean, I'm excited for it, but also like it's scary. But I'm excited for it and I think the goal is just to see how good I can be.
Q. Of your amateur highlights, might be a loaded question to ask, but do you have a favorite moment or favorite accomplishment so far?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I would say probably -- either winning like the European Ladies Individual in 2021 or Low Am at U.S. Women's Open in 2022.
Q. Awesome.
INGRID LINDBLAD: I feel both of them are pretty good.
Q. Yes. Oh, incredible. I feel like if you look at your golf resume there is a lot of really great stuff out there. I definitely think it's going to be cool to watch you make your road to the LPGA. Anything else that you want to share about your journey so far?
INGRID LINDBLAD: No, I don't want to bring it up actually. I've had quite a week already, to be honest.
Q. Oh, no.
INGRID LINDBLAD: So actually, like flying over here my suitcase was stolen at the airport. I just got back from Target. Shopped for clothes for like $250. My suitcase was stolen, like had to buy golf clothes, like everything. So it's been quite a week already.
Q. So first of all, are you okay with me adding that into the article as a snippet?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Yeah.
Q. I think that says a lot about playing under pressure. I like to write about how everybody has something going on personally like outside of golf. I think that just shows your talent of being able to go out and play. How do you kind of block out that personal like mishap and not let it affect you on the golf course?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I feel like I went out today and I didn't have a lot of swing thoughts. Like my assistant coach, Alexis Rather, she was just, keep your feet where you are. Don't try to be somewhere else. So I feel like just for today I was like -- so I texted her after the round and I said, hey, my feet were on the ground in Venice today.
I've been talking a lot lately like take one hole at a time. Don't get too far ahead of yourself. Yeah.
Q. Oh, my goodness. I can't believe that happened. I'm glad you got clothes at Target for sure.
INGRID LINDBLAD: Yeah, so the problem is that I flew through Atlanta. Flew into Orlando because that's where my coach flew in. So we fly in and Delta putts my bag on an earlier flight while I'm sitting in Atlanta, which is ridiculous because it only gets there one hour earlier.
As soon as I land at Orlando airport my AirTag is leaving the airport.
Q. Oh, no.
INGRID LINDBLAD: So like I started the week with like filing two police reports. We met up with the police where the AirTag was last seen. That's how my week started.
Q. But you're bringing it back well, so hopefully keeping that momentum through the weekend.
INGRID LINDBLAD: Yes. I went to Walmart and Target so bought a new suitcase at Walmart today. Yeah, shopped clothes for like $250 at Target.
