Quick Quotes
Q. All right, Lily, the Buick LPGA Shanghai. Nice 3-under round to start the tournament off. What was working so well in the first 18 holes?
MUNI HE: I think my putting has been relatively well lately in general. Today it was working. I got the ball rolling. Made some really essential short ones as well as like a few decently long ones, so very happy with that.
Q. What were some of the most memorable putts? Which ones really kept the round together, do you think?
MUNI HE: Probably on 18 which, was my 9. I think 18, especially the green, in my memory and just play these past few days, I think it's very difficult.
So to be able to make a long putt there for birdie was pretty memorable, yeah.
Q. Being back in China as one of the Chinese players in this year's event, what has the week been like for you?
MUNI HE: It's been really special. I haven't been back to China since 2019, since COVID. So, yeah, it feels like I'm home and it feels very familiar, and I'm super happy with all the food options.
Q. I know you got to also take in the Rolex Shanghai Masters earlier this week. What was that like for you to be able to take that in as be a competitive favorite this week?
MUNI HE: So really cool. I watched the tournament in 2019 as well, and that was my first introduction to tennis. Like all sports, tennis has been very big in the media recently, so I watched some of the U.S. Open a month or two ago, and, yeah, so to be able to see some of the players I've been seeing on social media in real life was really cool.
Q. Now that you've got the first round underway, the nerves maybe underway for coming to China and competing, what do you take from today as you head into the second round tomorrow?
MUNI HE: I think today felt relatively normal. I hope I can just keep the momentum; don't make the same mistakes again as I did today; yeah, keep the putter rolling.
