Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Maria Torres after her second round at the Ascendant LPGA. Two really solid rounds out here. What's been working for you so well this week?
MARIA TORRES: Having a lot of patience. My caddie has been trying to keep me more steady, more calm. We are just trying to just be consistent, hitting fairways, greens, just making it simple.
Q. What's maybe the best part of your game? Is it putting out here? Approach shots? Where are the birdies coming from?
MARIA TORRES: I think a little bit of both. Yeah, I started this week with a new coach. I don't know, we work in some tweaks and I've just been trying to follow that.
Q. Anything specific you're working on?
MARIA TORRES: Just my backswing on the irons and just we change like the posture on the putting. But I'm just trying to be more present in every shot.
Q. This course, what is it about this course that maybe you like or don't like that's suiting your game this week?
MARIA TORRES: Well, I've been taking it really -- I have to take it extra slow in this course. Normally I have to -- yeah, I need patient in this course for sure.
I'm just excited I've been having the opportunities, taking advantage of them. We still have two more days so a lot of golf to play.
Q. How cool is it to see your name at the top of the leaderboard? You're playing in the last group tomorrow. How does that work for your confidence?
MARIA TORRES: It's nice. Just thinking of how much we have been working and sometimes you don't see it, but I think at the end you just start to see stuff going on.
Q. And you've had a couple good Epson Tour finishes this year. How has that experience maybe helped prepare you for some of this LPGA Tour start?
MARIA TORRES: I'm just trying to keep it, as I said before, simple. I'm not trying to complicate anything. Golf is already complicated like for everything.
Yeah, just keeping it simple. And being present.
