Quick Quotes
Q. First round at Kingsbarns, 67 today at the Old Course, talk us through it.
GRANT FORREST: Yeah, started on 10. Made three quite good pars to start off. Was a little bit scrappy. Then yeah, just after that, played really nice. Had a great eagle the on 14, hit to 20 feet and made that and that kind of got the round going. Got stuck right up against the Road Hole Bunker on 17, and I managed to get it out, so that could have made a number there.
Yeah, played nicely, and left -- hit a couple putts. Left a few out there but overall good day.
Q. Top 10 here last year, and of course you won your first DP World Tour title a couple miles up the road. What does it mean when you come somewhere like here?
GRANT FORREST: You can't put your finger on it. There's just something about St Andrews as a place. It's just special. You walk around it and you're on the course, it's just, yeah, it's just so much history. Just a great place.
Q. You and Nacho were right at the top of that leaderboard. Looks like you guys were pulling each other along. Helps when you've got a partner that's performing as well, doesn't it?
GRANT FORREST: Yeah, I think our best-ball score would have been pretty solid today. Because obviously today, one of us birdied a hole -- definitely helps. Our amateur partners were great today, as well. Yeah, I think just feed off each other.
Q. Give us your thoughts and feelings about the prospect of Carnoustie tomorrow. Obviously the toughest track of the three and looks like the forecast isn't looking too great?
GRANT FORREST: I was at Carnoustie last year on the Friday. Managed to come out okay. So I know, yeah, we'll see. Could be Armageddon again. Just have to deal with what's in front of you on the day.
