Quick Quotes
Q. 68 today at the Old Course, how did you find it out there today?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Yeah, it's been a good week up to now. Quite tricky today with the wind, cross wind and stuff but the more and more I play the Old Course, the more and more I love it. We're happy with the golf that I played today.
Q. Carnoustie tomorrow. Obviously arguably the toughest test out of the three and perhaps the toughest conditions tomorrow?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Yeah, I mean, it is what it is. It's the Dunhill Links and this is what you've got to expect this week. There's going to be some tricky weather. I'm going to have it at Carnoustie tomorrow but there's a reason why I'm on the score I'm on is because I'm playing some good golf. So I've got to have a bit of confidence in that and just look forward.
Q. You have been playing some good golf this week. I know you haven't been content with your last few results. What have you been working on that's been making the difference so far?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Yeah, it's been a tough year for me. I've missed I think seven cuts by one shot.
So you know, I've had a bad run in the last four weeks. I went back to my old swing coach at the back end of Wentworth, after missing the cut at Wentworth. Had a bit of chat with him. Not working full-time yet but he's given a bit of advice. He's gotten me to a place where I feel in a good place.
And then doing a lot of work with Duncan McCarthy, my performance and mental coach on putting and everything. It's been a journey up to now, and a journey I'll continue tomorrow.
Q. Does perhaps the slightly more relaxed atmosphere of an Alfred Dunhill Links help on weeks like this?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Yeah, a hundred per cent. A hundred per cent. I'm really enjoying the golf. I've been getting a bit bogged down in results and been a bit emotional with it all. This week, being relaxed, I've got Richard Bevan, who is from Manchester, so I can understand the language, as well, because we've got a funny accent. Just relaxing and hopefully we can keep this going over the next two days.
