Quick Quotes
Q. All right, joined by Azahara Munoz. Azahara, just 5-under on the day. What was working so well for you? I know you told Golf Channel your putter, but what was working so well?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: I guess a bit of everything. I hit the ball pretty solid. I didn't get myself in trouble. The putting, again, was a bit deceiving because I did miss a lot of greens, but just by like a couple feet, so I was I was still putting.
I chipped in twice. One was pretty simple chip, but another one I actually went for the green on the par-5 in two and hit in the water.
Then I made probably a 35-yard chip over a bunker, so that was pretty cool. Yeah, again, I just hit my driver pretty good, hit lots of fairways, hit my irons good. Everything was kind of working.
Q. We got a little rain last night. How do you prepare for a course when you played the first couple days here, practice rounds, pro-ams and it's drier and we get the rain? How do you come in preparing for a wetter course?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: To be honest, it didn't feel wet out there. It was still -- the greens were still firm and so the thing that changed the most today was the wind. We've been playing with south wind and today was north wind.
It was kind of challenging. Off the tees was different lines, different clubs, but we I think we have our caddies, we trust them, and we have an amazing yardage book, so you just have to adjust.
Q. You kind of alluded to it with the putting and everything, but haven't seen a lot of low scores. You and Marina Alex right now. What has been the key to taking advantage of some of the scoring opportunities?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: I mean, you just have to take them when they come. I played really well the par-5s today. It's a pretty tricky course. It's hard to hit it close. It's windy out there. Some of the pins were pretty tough.
So, yeah, again, when I miss I miss in the right places, and when I had my chances I made them. That was really good.
Q. Talking about the north and south wind, north typically here is cold weather; south is warm weather. Today it's pretty warm. Through the weekend they're expecting cooler temperatures. How will that adjust your game?
AZAHARA MUNOZ: No, I don't think so. It's cooler but still going to be warm and nice. I don't even think we'll be using a sweater, right? I think the lowest I saw on Saturday is still 70s, so still going to be nice weather.
It's nice that it's not super warm the first couple days was quite toasty so it's a nice break from the heat.
