Q. You've had a couple of days to reflect and of course recover. Tell us how much fun that Sunday night was?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, it was a lot of fun, just to have the Ryder Cup in our hand, celebrate together, share that moment was very special.

Q. One day, a long time from now when you sit back and reflect on your career, where do you think that week in Rome will sit amongst your other achievements?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Right up there. Right up there. It's incredibly special. There's nothing better than winning as a team and to be part of a team, it's unusual to us as golfers. Obviously week-in, week-out, we are individuals, and to win as a team, I would argue it's better than individual wins.

Q. What moments in the week stands out the most in your memory?

MATT FITZPATRICK: My first four-balls on the Friday. Those first six holes will be with me forever. I just got on a roll, and yeah, it was obviously great to win the first point.

Q. Tour life moves on but I imagine the bonds you create with the 11 other guys and you walk on to the driving range and see one of those teammates, do things feel different?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Totally. There's a difference between losing a Ryder Cup together and winning a Ryder Cup together, and like you say, you'll always have that and whenever you see the guys, you'll remember. Shane Lowry said that we'll always have that week in Rome, so yeah.

Q. Of course here at St Andrews for the Alfred Dunhill link, I would imagine this is the perfect event, perfect week to follow up a Ryder Cup with?

MATT FITZPATRICK: I would say so, it's nice and relaxed, that's for sure, playing with my Mum, it's definitely a little bit different. But yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun.

Q. A dear diary moment, the draw you've got this week?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, amazed. I didn't think we would get that draw. I think it's perfect for myself, and for her to get to play with the two boys, it's incredibly special.
