Q. Shane, you're covered in champagne and so am I, but it doesn't matter, how good does this feel?

SHANE LOWRY: I saw him on the back of the 18th green -- this is a dream come true for me and this is something that I've always wanted to achieve in this game. We didn't get much going for us in Whistling Straits but I'm so proud of my team. There's 12 players and vice captains being backroom staff off the Tour, it's been the greatest week of my life. I've been so lucky to do what I've done in my game, and to be honest, those last few hours were the most stressful four hours of my life. Me, Tommy and Bob joked this morning, hopefully it doesn't come down to us, and it did, and thankfully Tommy did the business and the rest was just celebration.

Q. You were part of the team that was heavily beaten two years ago. We feared a decade of pain, and now you're champions as you just said?

SHANE LOWRY: You look at our team, I said to the lads last night, I said, we've got a young team. We've got -- Rose is the only player on the team over 40; I'm the second-oldest at 36.

So I see these young kids, even Rasmus Højgaard was here this week with his brother, he was driving Thomas in the buggy, guys like him, Rahm, all the younger players on the DP World Tour are going to be pushing to get on that next team at Bethpage and I'm going to be pushing very hard to keep going and get back on the team. No matter what happens from here, this has been the greatest week in my life. This is just incredible and I can't wait to celebrate.

Q. Describe the job that Luke Donald did this week?

SHANE LOWRY: Unbelievable. You know, like I said, I'm so grateful that he put his trust in me and gave me a pick, and I think I proved my worth this week. And yeah, he's just been incredible from -- you know, there's so many little things that goes on behind the scenes that nobody in the whole world sees and Luke got absolutely everything spot on. He said we were going to go out early this week and hit them hard early and that's what we did. At one stage it was looking dodgy enough but I have faith in the lads and faith in myself. I'm very happy.
