Quick Quotes
Q. Here where Jenny Shin. Jenny, bogey-free 65 on the day. Take us through your first day here at Pinnacle Country Club.
JENNY SHIN: I hit great shots into the green. No big mistakes. Hit the fairways when I needed to and hit greens when I needed to.
So great GIR today.
Q. Obviously not making any mistakes is huge in any event, but especially on a three-day event how crucial is it because you don't get the extra day to maybe make up some of those?
JENNY SHIN: Yeah, this is a birdiefest golf course. Not making a mistake is absolutely huge. I really wanted to shoot 8-under. That was my goal today. I feel like with some of the putts, could have happened.
Hopefully tomorrow I can drop some more putts.
Q. Do you prepare any differently for a three-day event? Are you more aggressive? What's the biggest differences I guess from playing a 72 versus a 54?
JENNY SHIN: No, none of the process or any of that changes. I did have a few drinks with my pro-am group yesterday, so I was fully expecting myself to be a little bit hungover, but felt pretty good today.
But I'll be going to bed pretty early tonight.
Q. Last one. You just talked about it. You got chummy with your pro-am group. Heard from a lot of players that this is one of the more, not laid back, but a little more chill event. Just how much do you enjoy coming here? Few Top 10s here as well. The success and the atmosphere, just how much do you like coming to this event?
JENNY SHIN: We have a really good crowd here. I think that's a big bonus. Like you said, I've been coming here for a long time, so you end up meeting a lot of the great people and see the supporters around the golf course.
But, yeah, three-day events, it's so rare. I don't ever get to fly into a golf tournament on Monday night and just be like, yeah, I still have plenty of time.
This is a great event. I wish we had a little bit more but that's just hoping.
